AGRO SEVILLA AND ITS MODEL OF COOPERATIVISM IN ANDALUSIA
Agro Sevilla has recently obtained recognition as Andalusian Priority Associative Entity (EAPA). This certification is aimed at supporting those entities that boost the agri-food sector of our environment thanks to its size and its associative nature.
Rodrigo Sánchez Haro, Head of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía handed this title to the President of Agro Sevilla, Gabriel Redondo, during the commemoration ceremony of our 40th anniversary held last May.
The example of a Priority Associative Entity of Andalusia
Agro Sevilla is constituted from its origins as a second-tier cooperative. Or what is the same, a cooperative of cooperatives, specifically twelve, distributed between the provinces of Seville, Cordoba and Malaga.
With this structure, Agro Sevilla has managed to be an example of the success of the associative fabric in rural areas. And success is defined as follows: Agro Sevilla, while contributing to the economic development of our towns, has become the leading producer and exporter of table olives worldwide.
The consolidated implementation of Agro Sevilla in Andalusia, the commercialization of its production under the same identity that brings together the different cooperatives, and the large turnover achieved in these years, are factors that have allowed us to obtain the EAPA certification.
And not only must we talk about such merits, but also the philosophy and criteria that govern the conduct of Agro Sevilla, based on values of equality and respect for all opinions for decision-making, perfectly comply with the spirit and the requirements of this recognition. An associative commitment, in short, that comes strengthened with this distinction to face together the next challenges.
